Accel Co-Founder Brendan McBreen
nominated as Whitehouse 'Champion of Change' Washington, DC—November 5, 2013—The White House has invited Brendan McBreen, co-founder of solar developer Accel Federal Energy Services LLC, to the Champions of Change program. McBreen participated at a White House ceremony on November 5 recognizing “Veterans Advancing Clean Energy.” |

The White House Champions of Change program recognizes individuals doing “extraordinary things to empower and inspire members of their communities.” The “Veterans Advancing Clean Energy” event recognizes veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan who are leading their communities to transition to a clean energy economy. Visit www.whitehouse.gov/champions “It was an honor to be invited,” said McBreen. “Clean energy is a national priority. The convergence of clean energy with job growth, lead by experienced veterans, is a tremendous recipe for success. The clean energy economy is building new jobs and I’m excited to be part of that national effort.”>As a Marine Corps officer with twenty-five years of service, McBreen deployed to the Middle East multiple times, and was awarded the Bronze Star for combat leadership in Afghanistan. In 2013, he co-founded Accel Federal Energy Services LLC to develop and build solar energy facilities. McBreen also serves on the board of the Hampton Roads Solar Group, a regional association promoting solar energy growth. |
